I have never filed a complaint to any government entity in my life.  Not until I was victimized.
I have never expected to experience any corruption.  Who would?
I have plenty of proof and I have quite a book to continue writing.

My complaint is about the ongoing "CULTURE" of patient disrespect at MINDSPRINGS HEALTH
and abuse of authority over patients seeking help for mental health issues.
I am not the only one being abused by the system the Federal Government subsidizes WITH TAX DOLLARS.
NOBODY deserves to be disrespected when they are actively physically, mentally,
emotionally, financially doing EVERYTHING in their power to HELP THEMSELVES.

STAY TUNED, THERE'S MORE.
In the meantime, check out what other's have found, so far:

I tried to call and put in a complaint about an employee in MSH's Grand Junction call center. She was the first person that ended up hanging up on me when my husband was in crisis. I explained that their patient advocate was NOT an option. She still wanted to dump me in that person's voicemail and I wouldn’t accept that. She said “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?” The line then disconnected, and nobody made any effort to call back.

As expected.

To date, I have received TWO voicemails on my cell phone BY MY HUSBANDS THERAPIST.

HERE IS ONE, AS PROVIDED TO THE

STATE OF COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL RIGHTS

FOR THIS HIPAA COMPLAINT.

I'm ONLY an EMERGENCY CONTACT and they refuse to supply a simple release.

I can't even call about a bill on his account without them verifying his name, d/o/b, etc.

But his therapist can call my phone. More than once?

Does the fact that there was a previous D/V situation between us

involving the law make any difference on HIPAA compliance?

They skirted that situation altogether in their inept denial.

See denial here.

After my denial, I asked this investigator that very question.

She did not respond.

The denial from the State of Colorado Department of Civil Rights
HIPAA Division didn't mention this at all.
Funny, this was the final straw that drove the necessity for a
Civil Rights complaint, in the first place.
They tiptoed around this as gracefully as an elephant.
Here is another matter, they also tiptoed around.

This is a portion of a Medicare bill summary showing a mental health appointment on May 9, 2022 for my husband. It was submitted as an appointment that actually happened.

Based on that, Medicare paid it.

The thing here, is he never knew about this appointment. Neither did I. We were out of state on a planned trip - for my son's wedding.

We told them this and they really could not care less if they tried.

The billing part is only a minuscule in comparison with the nasty, condescending letter that one of MSH's management team sends to delinquent patients. I am baffled that a human signed their name to this abhorrent garbage.

This is outrageous to punish a mental health patient by preventing help! Even if he DID actually miss this appointment.

There is no wonder why the State of Colorado mental health statistics are so pitiful.

The environment of patient abuse and neglect continues to stay strong because they keep the same people and let them treat patients however they see fit without ANY accountability.  Does ANYONE deserve this from a mental health provider that people are supposed to "trust" as being helpful?  I strongly believe that all mental health office employees should be required to FIRST ask if someone is in crisis. I understand they attempt this with their recording before you talk to a person.  Anyone with serious trauma - experiencing a desperate situation - is lucky if they call for help at all. I have personally been there, more than once. It is easy to hit the wrong extension of fumble your phone from shaking during this event. A person in crisis needs help with basic breathing exercises intended to calm. Ending up with an uncaring billing person is enough to put anyone over the edge.  Moreover, anyone with a serious and real complaint gets the one person that ANY patient gets. And the only way to reach that one person is through voicemail. Voicemail that is answered based solely on that person's situation. Only ONE person on the western slope of Colorado is supposed to handle every negative situation for all of MSH. That ONE person decided to promise me something that was not a decision in that person's job description. That promise was detrimental to my situation. When that promise was reversed by superiors, I wasn't notified. That person knew I ended up left out to dry, no matter the intentions. That promise led to me expecting an emergency mental health appointment being cancelled without telling me! I waited on Zoom like a moron. Once I called to find out what happened, I was told a 'superior' made that call and canceled it. It is pure evil to let someone in crisis think there is someone to help to only find out NOBODY CARES.
Suicide and depression run in my family. I will NEVER do that to my three children. My mother's suicide led me down life's drain for nearly a decade. But I am strong!
There is NO WAY they're not doing this to other patients that speak up.

justexhale.org is not an organization yet.

I sincerely doubt the State of Colorado would allow that.
